Description
Mid Century French Ceramic Lamp of Monumental Size and Scale
#3037
Impressive and Chic Mid Century French Ceramic Lamp of Monumental Size and Scale
French circa 1970
This table lamp measures 138cm in height and 37cm in diameter and is of truly enormous size. Made in stoneware, the decoration of the piece is entirely in keeping with the studio pottery movement that became so influential in the early to mid 20th century, the movement having been inspired by Japanese stonewares with their clean lines and abstract swirling glazes.
It goes without saying that this is a statement piece. A lamp of this size is bound to become the focal point in most rooms and so it is important that the lamp base is so beautifully decorated and the shade, with its funnel-type form, is so unusual.
Perfect for adding a mid century accent to a traditional interior or complementing existing mid century furniture and decorative objects, this lamp will be a real talking point. A true one off piece.
(body is 68 cm in height and shade 45cm diameter)
