Description
This refined and sophisticated chandelier was realized in Murano, Italy- the islands off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for their superlative quality glass production. It offers an abundance of handblown Murano glass shades in a Topaz gray hue- resembling abstracted feathers with tented centres and sinuously curved sides- descending from an oil rubbed bronze frame. The feathers are arranged in an overlapping pattern- that largely conceal the frame beneath- and hung in four tiers, creating a structure that is sculptural, dynamic and aesthetically captivating. With its clean lines, and understated monochromatic palate, this chandelier would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The chandelier accommodates 10 Edison based bulbs providing up to 1000 watts of light. Height of chain can be adjusted to suit.
Italy, 21st century.
