Description
These dramatic and sculptural modernist sconces were handblown in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. They feature elongated conical bodies capped with channeled elliptical forms and billowing amphora shades- all in beautiful iridescent Murano glass replete with a wealth of 24kt white gold flecks. They are cinched at the centers with cylindrical polished brass embellishments- providing a striking tonal and material counterpoint to the semi-translucent and ethereal feeling glass present throughout, and secured to square plates in the same material. With their beautiful glass quality and clean modernist lines, these sconces would be a winning addition to any style of interior from traditional to contemporary. They have been newly rewired to American standards and are in excellent vintage condition.
