This stunning and dramatic modernist triedre chandelier was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It features two tiers of Murano triedre crystals- one of the most iconic forms in Venetian glass history suspended from a brass frame. The exterior of the frame offers a fine rectangular trim that is reiterated by the rectangular canopy. The cylindrical supports connecting the frame to the canopy offer a curvilinear counterpoint to the rectilinear lines inherent to the crystals and frame. With its beautiful quality of craftsmanship, clean modernist lines, and refined color palate, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from Classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier accommodates six Edison based bulbs offering up to 600 watts of light.
