Paavo Tynell Brass Pendant Ceiling Light, Model 1088, Taito, Finland, 1940s

Description
This very rare ceiling/pendant light was designed by Paavo Tynell and produced by Taito in Finland in the late 1940s. This particular model was numbered 1088 and came in ceiling/ flush mount as well as the more rare pendant versions. The design is marked by the brass fixture with a central tubular stem and brass canopy. The glass shade is in a slightly glossy, opal white glass. The interior outfitted with three bulb holders, allowing for a pleasant and even light distribution. The design is completed by a decorative spiraled brass ornament placed below the glass shade.
The lamp is in very good, original condition, the brass with a natural and even patina. -
