Pair of Mid-Century Swiss Oversized Ceramic Table Lamps by Mattli

Exceptional and uncommon pair of large ceramic table lamps by the Swiss ceramicist, Mattli (circa 1960). Composed of terracotta bases with a high-gloss indigo glaze. Features dual sockets and large conical diffusers with two switches / lamp to control each socket independently. They include the original linen shades. There is a height disparity between the ceramic bases themselves (one measures 17.25", the other is 19.5" high). Hence, one of the stems is longer to compensate for the base height difference. The overall measurements are identical.
There is wear to the stems, partially masked by the shades (paint loss, as pictured). There is expected crazing from age to the glaze, but the ceramic bases are free of chips / losses and remain in excellent, vintage shape.
Incised 'Mattli' signature to bases.
