Description
A matched pair of American neoclassical revival Bradley & Hubbard brass candle sconces with original beveled mirrors and double candle arms. The frames are cast in a pierced foliate pattern with dolphins flanking an urn on top. Bradley and Hubbard was founded in Meriden, Connecticut in 1852. Each sconce is marked with a letter B, for Bradley. Condition of polished brass surfaces, mirror plates, single B markings, as well as narrative provenance; all validate dating.

Five decades of antiques collecting experience in a succession of Historic Register homes in Virginia, New York, and Connecticut; and a 1901 beaux arts building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Open Thursday through Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and on Tuesday and Wednesday by appointment.
