Description
1960s Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen Brutalist Brass Pendant Lamp. Executed in architecturally perforated burned brass. A highly refined Brutalist piece that retains the geometric characteristics of midcentury Scandinavian design of the period. Unmarked.
Sven Aage Holm Sørensen was a Danish designer who collaborated with lighting manufacturers Føg & Mørup and Lyfa until he founded his own company, Holm Sørensen & Co, in the mid 1950s. Using a special type of brass and copper, Sørensen went on to create sculptural lighting throughout 1960s. The metal was often burned and cut, creating rough and unfinished edges and perforations characteristic of Brutalist design.

Each lamp accommodates 1x 60W equivalent standard medium base (e26) LED bulb (LED only). Professionally rewired for US electrical with new black cloth cord and custom fabricated period style canopy for mounting over a standard American j-box. Adjustable max 72" drop.
