Description
Exceptional Tiffany style bronze twelve-light floor lamp featuring hand-blown art glass shades by renowned American glass artist Charles Lotton. This magnificent floor lamp is inspired by the graceful forms of the Art Nouveau movement and combines exceptional bronze craftsmanship with the vibrant artistry of Lotton's celebrated studio glass, resulting in an impressive decorative and functional lighting piece.
The sculptural bronze frame is beautifully cast and finished from top to bottom, with twisting stems that rise organically from an elaborate base adorned with finely modeled lily pads, flowers, and naturalistic botanical motifs. Twelve gracefully curved arms support individually hand-blown glass shades, each displaying rich golden yellow and warm amber-brown tones over a luminous iridescent ground. When illuminated, the shades produce a beautiful warm glow that highlights their iridescent surface and the subtle variations inherent to hand-crafted art glass, creating an inviting ambiance rather than harsh illumination. The combination of the sculptural bronze framework and the luminous art glass shades creates a dramatic centerpiece that is equally suited for a living room, library, entry hall, bedroom, or conservatory.
Measuring 61 3/8 inches high, approximately 21 inches in diameter, with an 11.5-inch diameter base, the lamp possesses an impressive scale while maintaining elegant proportions. It is a versatile statement piece that complements Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts, Tiffany-inspired, traditional, eclectic, and contemporary interiors alike.
The lamp remains in very good condition. The bronze frame and all twelve Charles Lotton hand-blown glass shades are well preserved. Two of the removable shades fit somewhat loosely within their holders but remain secure when installed. Overall, the lamp presents beautifully, with minor wear consistent with age and use. -
