Vintage Finnish Design Adjustable Wall Lamp in Brass & Wicker, Valinte 1950s
-
Description
A vintage wall lamp in brass and wicker/rattan manufactured by Valinte in Finland in the 1950s. The lamp features a brass stem with an adjustable mechanism allowing the light to be cast into almost any direction. The brass and rattan complement each other perfectly to create a warm visual and a comforting feeling for the surrounding area such as a living room. The lamp pairs together nicely with an armchair for example to create the perfect reading space.
The 1950s is known as the golden age for Finnish lighting. Mid-Century Modern lamps like this one were made by a few different companies in 1950s Finland. Valinte, Itsu, Taito, Idman and Orno were some of the leading lighting manufacturers in mid-century Finland, that defined what Finnish design lighting would become.
The item is in good condition, and the patina is true to it's age. The item is stamped "Valinte" by the manufacturer (refer to pictures).
Please note* that the lamp features a mechanism for adjusting the angle, due to which the measurements may vary depending on the adjustment. -
