Description
Timelessness and simplicity are parallels which when achieved, result in a design that is eternally attractive. Walter von Nessen was one of the great lighting designers of the Mid-Century. Nessen’s sculptural aesthetic was minimalist yet his sense of materiality was quite playful, most evident in this stunning example of his work.
Standing tall is a column of exquisitely polished Siena Marble with warm veins flowing through its surface. The golden marble is accentuated by a brass neck, the material paring was an expert design decision by Nessen who often explored unique materials in his body of work. The combination creates an impressively heavyweight piece of lighting design that only Nessen could produce.
The lamp is equipped with dual lamping with a devoted pull-chain on each socket; allowing for just a bit of accent light or full-room brightness. This lamp has been professionally rewired for modern day use. We chose a square shade to complement the lamp’s square columnar form, this shade is included with this piece and the below dimensions account for the shade as well. -
