Description
Mid-Century Modern Sculptural Polished Brass & Pyrite Table Lamp by Willy Daro
$6,975.00
This striking table lamp is truly a gem of Mid-Century Modernist design paired with stunningly sharp and precise execution and lovely materials, created by the Artist Willey Daro in Belgium Circa 1970. Featuring a stylized angular swoop in polished brass from which a four arm rectilinear support emerges to hold a gleaming and jagged Pyrite mineral cluster. Evoking the movement of a ship's body or the spinal twist of an ancient creature, this piece blends protective maternal aggression with sharp attention to detail and rigorous material execution and refinement. Willey Daro's work often incorporates brilliant naturalistic visual references that blend and influence the abstracted forms and traditional structures and design techniques that frame the piece. This table lamp is a stunning work of art that stimulates with daring energy, revealing forms and new moments from all angles of appreciation. Newly rewired for American Standards. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
