Description
Fantastic early 19th century wall mirror from the famous Biedermeier period in Vienna/ Austria. This magnificent, large wall mirror from the early Biedermeier era around 1825 comes with a traditional overlapped substructure made of spruce wood and impresses with its beautifully thick veneered walnut surface showing an absolute amazing looking grain. On this precious antique mirror even the outer edges have been veneered. A traditional hand polished shellac finish completes the outstanding look of this great old restored antique 19th century Biedermeier mirror which still keeps the original facet cut mirror glass. The over 200 year old mirror plate shows aging spots, light flaking and slight scratches but these won't affect the beauty or functionality in any way, much more it underlines the striking charme of a long past period. The backside is closed with the original wooden boards and the hand forged ring makes wall mounting easy. A true gem of a Biedermeier mirror coming in absolute great (old restored) original condition.
