Lovely rustic hand-carved Black Forest wall mirror from the period around 1870 in Austria. This rural, so-called "black forest" style mirror has elaborately been hand carved out of basswood in the manner of beautiful tree branches. The unique designed frame shows a very dark brown, almost black looking surface which additionally enhances the gorgeous looking patterns. The mirror plate was renewed during the restoration process. A hand forged ring on the backside makes wall mounting easy. A truly exceptional late 19th century Black Forest mirror, coming to you in perfect restored condition.
