Description
Antique Art Nouveau Mirror. American Art Nouveau Wall Mirror 19th century. Beautiful carved Gilt Floral blossoms set on stalks that embrace a walnut and mahogany mirror frame to each side. A full plate of clear glass beveled to outline the flowers and mirror shape is set in front on top of the mirror glass, both are set inside the frame. This wonderful example has endured repairs over the years maintaining its beauty and patina. In very good restored condition wood paneled back is also original. This mirror leans more to Art Nouveau rather then Arts & Crafts with the elongated stalks climbing the sides arched inward with embellished tops having gilded circular floral pedals displaying in full bloom. The mirror frame has mahogany (top) and walnut (bottom) banding running horizontally. The beveled glass outline enhances the character of the mirror while adding interest and detail to the floral blossoms on the top. Wonderful rare one of a kind mirror that will be beautiful in any setting.
