French 19th Century Gilt & Painted Symmetrical Mirror

Dimensions: 65” H x 41” W x 3 ½” D

Functioning as both artwork and a mirror, this 19th century French gold gilt frame was updated more recently with a charming, hand-painted border of repeating sunburst design. With painted gold gilt trim, the polychrome illustrations seem to dance around the glass, rendered in blue and ivory over a green background and punctuated by little red centers. The glass is a modern replacement offering a clear reflection of any room. Displayed in vertical orientation, the frame is symmetrical to hang in either direction. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
