French 19th Century Louis Philippe Gold Gilt Mirror
-
Description
A complex work of functional art, this French mirror dates to Louis Philippe with mesmerizing Louis XVI detail. Four patterns of giltwood moulding, tinged an elegant terracotta hue, form the immediate frame around the original mirror plate, with rounded shoulders iconic of the Louis Philippe style. Crowning the top is an overlapping ornamental crest in the rococo style, exquisitely carved in high-relief. Stamped on reverse “PF”. Please see the detailed images.
