French 20th Century Gilt Reproduction Trumeau

$ 2,500
  • Description
    Dimensions: 64 ⅛” H x 35” W x 1 ½” D

    A stunning French Louis XVI-style reproduction trumeau mirror (1900s) with Neoclassical motifs decorating the gilded frame for a romantic and timeless aesthetic across decorating tastes. In the frieze of the rectangular frame is a dense accumulation of symbolic imagery from the court of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette: a ribbon tied in a bow drapes over a lyre, with a flute and bell to continue the musical theme laid on top of delicate bouquets of flowers projecting toward the edges of the panel. Ribbon twist carvings around the top panel and mirror plate are an ideal complement to the flat, rectilinear border of the frame. Please view the detailed images to see more of this fabulous trumeau mirror.
