French 19th Century Petite Walnut Commode

A petite walnut commode from circa 1840 France, it is a multipurpose storage piece scaled down to use practically anywhere around the home. Transitional in style, the silhouette aligns more closely with an Empire taste as the lines are clean which suits the subtleties of the beautiful walnut grain. Chippendale brass hardware of drop pulls lend functional ornamentation to the drawerfronts, which are not original and no key is present. The stack of three drawers have been thoroughly cleaned and tightened to glide easily, elevated on block feet. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this unique case piece is ready to join your interior. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
