Midcentury Italian Brass Beveled Mirror with Scroll Top Attributed to Gio Ponti
-
Description
1950s Italian modernist shaped brass beveled mirror with elegant central decorative brass scroll element on slightly arched and curved top tapering down towards the curved bottom, attributed to Gio Ponti. This exquisite mirror has lovely curves on the brass frame as well as the iconic and lyrical crown-like top decoration. It's a fine example of the Novecento design which was both classical yet modernist, and was used by Gio Ponti for some of his furniture, mirrors, and other decorative arts pieces.
