This rare armchair was designed by Folke Jansson in 1956. The model, named Tellus, was produced by S.M. Wincrantz Möbelindustri in Skövde, Sweden. It retains its original manufacturer’s label on the inner side of the frame.
The design is defined by smooth, continuous curves that form an inviting and well-balanced silhouette. Its rounded back and integrated armrests give the chair a cohesive, sculptural appearance, and it presents well from every angle. The tapered legs, made from dark-lacquered solid beech, are slightly splayed to lift the frame and provide a sense of lightness. Each leg is finished with a small brass sphere, adding a refined detail.
The chair is in very good condition and has been fully restored. It is newly upholstered in an ochre-yellow wool bouclé by Pierre Frey, and the legs have been refinished.
