Description
This rare armchair was designed by Gio Ponti and produced by Cassina, Italy in 1954. The model was numbered 803 and is one of the most iconic and recognizable Ponti designs produced by Cassina in the 1950s. The design is marked by the slightly curved back and the elegant continuous armrests connecting the back all the way to the front legs. The refined tapered legs are in solid walnut wood.
The chair is upholstered in a multicolored fabric in a horizontal pattern reminiscent of abstract paint brushes. The legs have been restored and refinished.
The chair is accompanied by a signed certicate of expertise by the Gio Ponti Archives.
