Description
The iconic Papa Bear armchair was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1951. This armchair on offer here was produced in 1963 by A.P. Stolen, the first and original manufacturer of the AP-19 model, better known as the Papa Bear chair. The chair is marked with both the manufacturer's stamp and the Danish Furnituremakers Control metal tag.
The Papa Bear Chair stands as the archetype for a comfortable easy chair. The strong solid wooden frame constitutes the foundation on which the comprehensive and detailed upholstery work is built. This example is with beech wood legs, oak armrests and the original pink wool upholstery.
The chair is in good original condition. The fabric with minor fading. The wooden legs and armrests with minor wear consistent with age and use. If desired, the chair can be newly upholstered according to your personal wishes.
