Description
Italian Walnut Carved Settee / Bench with Velvet Seat, circa 1950
An exceptionally rare and elegant Italian mid-century settee or bench defined by its soft, sweeping crescent curvature and architectural openwork backrest. Crafted in warm, rich walnut, the frame showcases three sculptural V-shaped back supports that cradle a floating upholstered bolster rail. Its gently curved bench seat rests upon eight finely turned, tapered legs joined by subtle carved accents along the wooden apron, balancing Neo-classical grace with dynamic mid-century modernist lines. Reupholstered in a plush, rich aqua green velvet that beautifully complements the deep wood tones. This striking settee offers a commanding profile, perfectly suited to grace an entrance foyer, hallway or for living / dining room seating.
Tuscany, Italy circa 1950
