Description
It is often said that modern design is timeless, this is unequivocally true with the Brno Chair, possibly one of the most iconic pieces of design in existence. Its designer, the great Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, could very well be known as one of the founding fathers of the Mid-Century Modern design movement. His work is deeply rooted in the Bauhaus from which this chair came to be. Only Mies van der Rohe, with his sage-like mastery of minimalism, could have consistently produced work still relevant to this very day.
This set of eight Brno Flat-Bar Chairs are all newly upholstered in a rich Angora Mohair in the color Fog. These are handsome examples of vintage Brno Flat-Bar Chairs from the year 1984, in these years the frames Knoll used are polished stainless steel. This iteration chair is far more desirable than the chrome plated steel frames Knoll produces today.
We have eight Brno Flat-Bar Chairs in stock and would consider selling smaller sets (these Mohair chairs are priced at $2,250 each). We also have pre-restoration Brno Flat-Bar Chairs and would be happy to upholster sets to one’s personal specifications with either material from our library or COM. The chairs shown have been newly restored and upholstered and their frames remain original showing minor wear consistent with age and history. Overall a very stunning example of Mies van der Rohe’s most classic design. -
