Description
This rare wingback chair was designed by Arnold Madsen & Henry Schubell and produced in Denmark in the 1950s. The model is a variant of their iconic Pragh armchair, designed in 1948.
The generously sized design is marked by its curved, sweeping wing back with fully buttoned back and seat details. The chair has been fully reconditioned and newly upholstered in a sumptuous Pierre Frey 'Gabriel' velvet. This long-pile wool velvet has a rich, deep navy blue tone. The sculptural legs and armrests are made of solid stained beech wood in a warm, inviting tone.
The chair is in very good, reupholstered condition. Minor signs of wear consistent with age and use are present on the wood. Ready for placement. -
