Description
Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen lounge chairs / club chairs model 1748 produced through Fritz Hansen. A noted Danish design by Peter Hvidt & Orla Molgaard-Nielsen of an upholstered lounge chair model 1748. Simple lines with soft subtle curves to the back and arms present a elegant modern aesthetic. Deriving its design qualities and characteristics from Scandinavian design of the early middle 20th century in the 1940s. These model 1748 chairs have become iconic in the style and quality that flourished as Scandinavian Modern / Danish Modern design through the period of Mid Century Modern 1945 - 1969. Quality comfort and ergonomic understanding transformed into modern design achieving a minimal, clean approach that seeks to combine functionality with beauty, the foundation of Scandinavian Design. With focus on simple lines and light spaces, devoid of clutter. These armchairs express exactly this offering a luxurious minimal approach to lounge chairs. These chairs are of the size of the period having a small footprint of 27 wide by 29.5 deep by 30 tall with a seat height of 15.5 making them great for tight spaces. Extremely comfortable in good condition. The wool fabric of seafoam green is in good condition. The fabric appears to be within the last several years and also of a color and style similar and consistent with the period of manufacture (1950s). Great set of club chairs, lounge chairs, of true Scandinavian Modern design.
