Description
This beautiful pair of CM236 armchairs was designed in the 1960s by Pierre Paulin and produced by Thonet. The model fully embodies the formal research conducted by the French designer during this period, aiming to rethink seating as a fluid and organic volume. The chromed steel base, both graphic and rigorous, structures the overall composition while contrasting with the generous volumes of the seat and backrest. Slightly inclined, the latter offer a naturally comfortable posture and highlight the purity of the lines, characteristic of Paulin’s work at this time.
The armchairs have been fully reupholstered in a wool satin fabric by Dedar, whose subtle and elegant texture enhances the geometry of the model. Fully restored, these armchairs are found in excellent condition and are ready for use. -
