Description
This pair of Art Deco button-back chairs by Russel Wright for the Conant Ball Company, crafted circa 1940, beautifully captures the marriage of streamlined design and luxurious comfort. The elegantly sculpted walnut frames boast clean lines, rich wood grain, and subtle curved accents, with lovely tapered supports embodying the signature sophistication of the Art Deco style. Generously upholstered in button-tufted velvet, these chairs offer a plush, inviting texture that perfectly complements the warmth and depth of the walnut. The thoughtful proportions and understated glamour reflect Wright’s vision of “livable modernism,” making these chairs as functional as they are visually striking. Whether placed in a living room, study, or lounge, they serve as timeless statement pieces that bridge classic and contemporary aesthetics. This pair is a superb example of Russel Wright’s enduring contributions to American design. In Mint Restored Condition.
