Description
Silvio Coppola, an Italian designer renowned for his minimalist and functional aesthetic, collaborated with Bernini, a prestigious Italian furniture company established in 1950. Their partnership in the 1960s led to the creation of several iconic pieces, including the Model 620 chair. Produced by Bernini in 1964, the Model 620 chair exemplifies Coppola’s skill in blending form and function.
Design
Crafted in rich walnut wood and upholstered in luxurious black leather, the chair’s rather voluptuous shapes do not necessarily reflect Coppola’s usual minimalist approach. The walnut frame provides a warm contrast to the sleek black leather, creating a visually striking and comfortable piece.A standout feature of the Model 620 is its innovative design: the tops of the back legs can be unscrewed to access the backrest, allowing easy upholstery changes. This practical detail ensures the chair’s longevity and versatility, aligning with Coppola’s commitment to functional beauty.
Condition
The frames are fully restored in our workshop. The leather remained untouched by us but can be reupholstered if desired. There is a quality difference between the leather on the seats.
We also have two matching dining tables model '613.1' in walnut by Silvio Coppola for Bernini, available. -
