Description
This curved sofa would not have looked out of place on a film set a la Visconti. Besides the fact that it could have been a glamorous setting for an intimate dialogue between Cardinale and Delon, it is much more the allure of the provocative shape that the sofa strongly radiates. The flamboyant design reminds us of the works by Federico Munari. An Italian designer who created a furore in the early 1950’s with these types of striking and artistic shapes. This particular sofa, in addition, is a type of design that can be easily incorporated into a more classic interior but would also be a gem in a modern minimalist interior.
Design
One reason for this is that the back of the sofa is completely finished and can therefore be freely positioned in the room. Soft fabric has a dark turquoise color with a shade that changes slightly depending on the lightfall.Seven tapered metal legs with a black finish and round brass feet extend elegantly from underneath the sofa and seem to make the whole object float in space. A graceful backrest that flows into the armrest frames the seating area which almost looks like an embrace.
Condition
The legs are patinated and show signs of wear that are entirely in line with age and use. The upholstery has been redone in the past and is still in excellent condition. -
