Description
You are looking at a Tom Dixon bull chair circa 1986 with only forty examples ever made. The chair is referenced on page. 56 of the book called "Cut and Shut" The History of Creative Salvage. These guys were a group of artist that rose to fame with their creativity and using ordinary metal and everyday items and turned it into exciting art. Punk Rockers, Mick Jagger, The Clash and other artists of the time collected these wild and interesting pieces from Creative Salvage.
The chair is welded steel incorporating fish skillets, Chinese ladles and frying pans. The chair is amazing looking from any angle. Creative Salvage did their works of art in the gritty parts and warehouses of England comprised of Joe Rush, Tom Dixon, Mark Brazier-Jones and Nick Jones. These artists worked along side and collaborated with Ron Arad and did art shows from his gallery. They were heavily involved with the punk scene and musicians themselves during the 1980s. This is a great piece for a collector and you will be hard pressed to find another anytime soon.
