Description
A Florentine walnut sofa from the 18th century from the Villa Fioravanti, with carved lyre motifs, scrolling arms and tapered, fluted legs. This exquisite 18th-century Tuscan walnut sofa, hailing from the illustrious Villa Fioravanti in Florence, is a splendid representation of refined Italian craftsmanship and timeless elegance. The sofa features a beautifully carved back, adorned with three lyre motifs that immediately draw the eye. Topped with a gracefully curving upper rail, the back exudes a sense of classical sophistication.
The scrolling arms are intricately embellished with carved acanthus leaves, adding a touch of organic elegance to the design. The sofa rests on tapered, fluted legs, enhancing its graceful silhouette and ensuring stability. The seat measures 44"W x 17.5"D x 15.25"H, offering comfortable seating while the overall structure reflects the characteristic Tuscan style of the 18th century.
Though the upholstery is older and in fair condition, the sofa is ready for a fresh update, allowing for customization to suit modern tastes while preserving its historical charm. This piece is perfect for adding a touch of antique sophistication to a living room, hallway, or study. Its rich history and intricate details make it a standout piece, blending seamlessly with both traditional and contemporary decor. The Tuscan walnut sofa from Villa Fioravanti is not just a piece of furniture but a piece of art, bringing a touch of Florentine grandeur to any home. -
