Description
This is a classic 19th century Venetian Settee that has been decorated in a stunning black Japanned surface. The painted and inlaid mother-of-pearl scenic views of India and China remain in very good original condition. The decoration is further detailed with paintings of butterflies and birds throughout the frame. There is some wear to the legs of the frame, but this is anticipated and even desirable. The settee would benefit from new upholstery which we have decided to leave to the discretion of its new owner. The gorgeous scenic inlay transforms this classic settee into a statement piece.
