Lovely 19th century Biedermeier nutwood chest of drawers from the renowed period in Austria around 1840. This elegantly shaped, almost 190 year old charming commode provides two large drawers, beautifully veneered with carefully selected, mirrormatched nutwood. The beautifully arranged nutwood surface impresses with a fantastic looking grain. Delicate rounded edges combined with appealing carved slender legs on the front confer this marvelous masterpiece of a Biedermeier commode a certain kind of lightness and elegance. Artfully inlaid ebonized wooden key locks - typical for this period - additionally embellish the drawers of this perfect sized, antique Biedermeier chest of drawers/ commode.

Period: 19th Century Materials: nutwood veneered Condition: Good. *good old restored condition, with signs of age and use - the very old veneer shows some slight so-called "stress cracks" here and there but doesn´t affect the functionality or beauty in any way.
