19th Century French Provincial Wooden Dresser

$ 4,995
  • Description
    Masterful craftsmanship and a natural golden finish makes this antique wooden dresser a heirloom to be treasured for generations to come. Built in France in the 1800s, the design combines a spacious lower cupboard with a set of upper shelves, which would have originally been used to display the precious chinaware of a country household. The composition is crowned by a decorative crest: curving scrolls lend a Rococo inflection to the silhouette, while an intricately carved stag’s head juts from the center, proving a noble focal point. The surface of the wood has been beautifully restored to reveal the warm golden finish and attractive grain of the organic oak, lending a youthful freshness to this remarkable period piece.
