19th Century French White Patinated Chest of Drawers

Description
This charming antique chest of drawers combines a simple country design with a wistful patina. Made in France in the 1800s, the form is clean and restrained. An upright cabinet houses four spacious drawers; carved wooden knobs and paneled borders add understated ornament. The principle decorative device, however, is the finish that the piece has acquired over the centuries: the once-painted surface has weathered to an evocative color palette of bone white, cream and natural wood, inflected with notes of pale blue mist.
