Artfully crafted late 19th century French marquetry chest of drawers from the period around 1870. An absolutely masterpiece of a transitional commode, perfectly restored, impressing with its outstanding looking marquetry works. The extraordinary "grid" patterns which can be seen on both sides as well as on the front was made with fine maple wood and is highlighted by small dots of cherrywood. Providing three large drawers, whereby the upper drawer is a little narrower and framed by nutwood, this extraordinary transitional chest of drawers offers lot of storage space. The one of a kind beige/ yellow marble plate with pink/brown veins on top, artfully created brass applications on the feet and drawers and the gorgeous designed pilasters confer this 19th century transitional style commode a real luxurious appearance. The surface has been sealed with a traditional hand polished shellac finish and completes the incredible look of this exclusive chest of drawers.
