This elegant chest of drawers from the Directoire period, crafted in solid walnut, dates to the late 18th century and originates from Italy’s Veneto region, a hub of refined furniture production during the neoclassical era. Its restrained silhouette, typical of the Directoire style, reflects a transition away from the ornate flourishes of earlier periods, favoring clean lines and a sense of architectural clarity.

The façade is arranged with a pair of narrow drawers at the top, followed by three full-width drawers below, all fitted with oval brass escutcheons and original hardware. The walnut has aged gracefully, showcasing a luminous grain and a deep, warm patina developed over centuries.
