Description
This elegant Art Deco Rosewood, Burled Carpathian Elm & Acacia Burl with Nickled Bronze Pulls Sideboard originates from France, circa 1940. This stunning sideboard features a gently bowed front and stunningly finished rosewood providing a deep warm glow, paired beautifully with rare and exquisite burled carpathian elm lining the top edge and composing the plinth base of the piece. The center of the Sideboard features an inset display with sliding glass doors lined in Nickeled bronze, pairing beautifully with the geometric minimal hardware of the piece, with well sized angular handles creating a beautiful contrast with the warm natural materials of the sideboard, designed and executed with brilliantly reserved geometric sensibilities, a stand-out example of Art Deco craftsmanship and form. The wood grain creates stunning movement and exudes incredible color and sheen with bold swirling grains that dazzle the senses, creating motion horizontally across the top surface of the piece with lovely vertical movement across the front. Stepped moulding at the top edge articulate the architectural lines and reinforce the piece's period character, resulting in a versatile and exquisite piece. A brilliant example of the Deco Era, but with modern sensibilities and versatile presence, this piece will style well in a wide array of eras and settings, from Art Deco to Mid-Century and Contemporary Interiors. This Sideboard is in Mint Restored Condition.
