Description
Chippendale Four Drawer Chest
New England, possibly New Hampshire.
Signed, Porter Crosby, under second drawer.
Dated, November 30, 1809, under third drawer.
Birch, pine secondary.
In a remarkable state of preservation, retaining traces of original red wash and original hardware. Few minor repairs. The top is finished with ovolo corners above four graduated, dove-tailed drawers with scored, beaded edges supported by distinctive carved bracket feet.
