English 19th Century Mahogany Chest on Chest

Dimensions: 73 ¾” H x 46” W x 22 ⅝” D

English 19th century towering chest-on-chest in the Georgian style, circa 1850, the case is built from mahogany with beautiful coloration in the grain. Dentil molding accentuates the crown over side-by-side top drawers mounted on a stack of six spacious drawers. Of the eight drawers, seven drawers retain functioning locks with two keys included (the upper left drawer does not lock). Heavy brass drop handles facilitate easy opening and closing of the drawers which have been thoroughly cleaned inside. The base unit projects slightly beyond the chest on top, underscoring the feeling of permanence and strength, rising on beautifully carved bracket feet. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax, ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images as they are essential to understanding the current condition of the antique.
