Description
A classic four drawer Honduran mahogany nightstand designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for his Taliesin line of furniture manufactured by Heritage Henredon of Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1955.
This rare Frank Lloyd Wright design also may serve as a sofa table / bedside table, and features an arts and crafts related design with signature greek-key edge detailing that bears his signature and a red chop mark.
The Taliesin line was only in production for two years, 1955/1956.
Due to its design which leans more to his Arts and Crafts work and not his more contemporary Usonian designs the furniture did not find as broad an audience as it might have in the mid-1950s in comparison to Herman Miller, Knoll, Brown- Saltman, Widdicomb, Baker etc.
This accounts for its relative rarity and being signed makes it quite desirable and collectible today.
The cabinet shows some light signs of age.
Beautiful and ready to use (and love) immediately.
The cabinet is in very good conditioDiscover a rare and exceptional Frank Lloyd Wright 1955 Small 4-Drawer Cabinet from his Taliesin line for Heritage-Henredon. Produced in only 1955-1956, this collection was designed with a primary residential focus, emphasizing Wright’s signature organic aesthetic and craftsmanship. The cabinet features the distinctive carved Greek key border—an unmistakable trademark of the Taliesin line—adding an elegant, classical detail to its clean, harmonious design.
Constructed with rich mahogany veneer, it offers four spacious drawers inside a beautifully crafted frame. The piece bears both Frank Lloyd Wright’s signature chop and Heritage-Henredon’s branding, alongside model and date markings, confirming its authenticity and provenance. These identifiers enhance its rarity and significance, as this cabinet is a true collectible representing Wright’s unique contribution to residential furniture design during the mid-20th century.
In excellent condition, this piece exemplifies Wright’s commitment to craftsmanship, natural materials, and functional beauty. Whether enhancing a modern or traditional space, it provides a timeless touch rooted in architectural and design excellence. An extraordinary opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike, this cabinet captures Wright’s organic, elegant vision perfected during a brief but impactful production run. -
