Description
Dimensions: 31 ⅝” H x 39 ⅜” W x 19 ¼” D
A timeless mahogany commode from France, 19th century, with finely carved decoration in the Louis XVI style, fitting with traditional and transitional tastes easily. The planks of the top surface are lightly patinated from expected use and water-rings, but not distracting from the elegant coloration and grain patterns. Making up the body of the piece are three spacious drawers that glide easily using brass bail pulls; shield escutcheons indicate the keyholes however no key is present. The drawers are of excellent proportion to offer elegant storage for clothes, linens, or other household essentials. Fluting on the turreted corners of the case flows into turned, tapering legs lifting the case from the floor, matching the geometric silhouette of the stepped apron. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax this antique commode is ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images. -
