High-Gloss Hunter Green & Gilt Mid-Century 3-Drawer Sideboard Dresser
-
Description
Our search for truly timeless design is an ongoing pursuit. We are constantly discovering pieces with rich backgrounds and quiet stories, and every so often one enters our workshop and inspires a deeper intervention. In these moments, our artisans draw on their fluency in design across eras and elevate a piece into its next chapter.
This Mid-Century dresser is one of those studio creations. It began as an understated form, and through carefully considered design edits our team shaped a piece that now stands as a statement, one capable of anchoring a room while remaining aligned with our guiding principle of timelessness.
Inspired by the original Regency and Art Deco scroll motifs carved into the sides of the drawers, our team created three oversized pulls that both complement and reinterpret that detail. The pulls extend the scrollwork language and together evoke the look of Art Deco gilded drapery. Each one is finished in gold leaf and designed to serve as sculptural jewelry for the case.
For the dresser itself, we selected a high gloss lacquer in Hunter Green to serve as a rich backdrop to the custom gilt hardware. The piece has been restored inside and out while preserving its original silhouette, and the introduction of these tailored details propels it into a one of a kind studio piece. -

Stories exist in many forms, we see them in objects. The aesthetic of those before us is passed down through their surviving creations. These are the objects we search for; to preserve, refine, & continue the story. Object Refinery combines design obsession, fine craftsmanship, and a love for history in our worldwide search for objects. Based in Connecticut, USA; we partner with a network of local artisans to restore and refine our findings before passing them on to the next collector.
