Description
A refined and architecturally balanced Italian mid-19th century neoclassical sideboard, crafted in carved wood and finished in beautifully aged tempera lacquer with later tasteful painted enhancements.
This piece stands on elegant truncated pyramid legs and features a gently curved serpentine front that gives the silhouette movement and distinction. The façade and top are decorated with geometric painted panels in soft brown, cream, yellow, and pale blue tones, creating a restrained yet highly decorative presence.
Behind the four paneled doors are generous storage compartments, complemented by three cleverly concealed drawers that preserve the clean symmetry of the design. Original locks and ring pulls add both authenticity and practicality. Made in central Italy, this sideboard embodies the refined proportions and disciplined ornament of the neoclassical tradition, making it an ideal statement piece for sophisticated interiors—from traditional residences to contemporary spaces seeking historic depth.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
