Description
Mid Century Brutalist Sideboard. Spectacular period Brutalist Sideboard of the mid century. Having two inch thick framed panel doors with individually hand hammered iron pulls. The design uses layered framed moldings on each door panel to form striking, geometric shapes, in a large scale creating captivating architectural dimensional details that surround the cabinet including the side panels and also the two drawer fronts on the interior. The sideboard sits 1 inch above the ground set on feet lifts that are recessed underneath the base molding of the bottom frame. This gives the appearance that the sideboard is floating slightly above the ground. Excellent storage within it's four cabinets. The center doors open exposing two upper drawers with a full lower storage shelf. Both the left and the right side cabinets have two shelfs. The color is a dark brown having a matt finish that has a look of dark brown charcoal adding to the Brutalist design being very unique. This is a large scale piece being 96 inches = 8 feet long. Composed of solid wood planks making up the exterior, no veneers. Works in any setting, from country to refined, modern or traditional, having qualities of all, a timeless design. An individual significant sideboard of the Brutalist style and period in very good condition. American late 1950's. An access panel exists in the right side rear wall of cabinet.
