This stunning and sumptuous modernist sideboard was realized in the United States during the latter half of the 20th century. Inspired by the work of the legendary design luminary Karl Springer, this sideboard offers a volumetric rectangular body clad in a vibrant vermilion lacquered goatskin. The goatskin is applied in a tapestry of square sections, each with their own unique texture, creating a mosaic brimming with verve and subtle dynamism. The four drawers are traced with walnut detailing and opened with finely fluted brass pulls. The piece sits on four rectilinear walnut legs fitted with square brass sabots with raised perimeters. The interior opens to reveal six compartments in total, offering a wealth of storage possibilities. With its austere form and beautiful attention to detail, this piece is as versatile as it is stunning, blending perfectly with any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition.
