Swedish 18th Century Gustavian Slant-Front Desk

Made in Sweden around 1780, this petite Gustavian slant-front desk has been repainted in black with a blue interior. The slant, or fall, front opens to reveal a fitted writing interior, while the Gustavian style is seen in the restrained proportions of the piece. The repainted black exterior gives a strong, uniform surface, while the blue interior provides a contrasting accent when the desk is open.
