In the restrained elegance of the Louis XVI period, this exceptional 18th-century Italian console embodies the enduring appeal of Neoclassical design. Its finely carved giltwood frame is enriched with a rhythmic frieze of fluting and bead-and-reel ornament, while the tapering legs are adorned with delicate stop-fluting and stylized acanthus leaves that descend gracefully toward gadrooned feet.
Crowned with a handsome gray marble top, the console possesses a remarkable architectural presence—at once refined and commanding. The softened gilding and centuries-old patina lend warmth and depth, highlighting the crisp carving and artisanal craftsmanship.
